ICC and ICS seeks help
with groundskeeping
The Immaculate Conception’s grounds keeping group would like to invite any interested persons, including 6th and 7th graders who need service hours, to join us in getting the church and school grounds in shape. Flowerbeds need to be weeded and mulched. For more information, call the parish office or Mary Ivory at 419-483-4450.

Note from Father Jonathan

Dear Parishioners,
Thanks to all who made our reverse raffle last weekend a great success. Thanks to the committee members and all who volunteered. It was a great evening, even if I didn’t win. As we look forward, our second graders are eagerly anticipating their first communion celebration on May 5. Please note that we will have a different Mass schedule that weekend. Saturday, May 4, will be the regular schedule with confessions at 3:30 p.m. and Mass at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, May 5, there will only be one morning Mass at 9:30 a.m. The first communion Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Obviously, anyone is welcome to come to any of the Masses. Please pray for our young people who will celebrate the sacrament of Penance this week. May God continue to bless them and their families and help all of us have a renewed appreciation for the great gift of the Eucharist.

Organ transplant!
If you haven't had an opportunity to see the new organ installation up close, we've added a slideshow above. Enjoy the photos now ... enjoy new organ music, coming soon!

Eucharistic Adoration
Our principal Catholic belief is the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Eucharistic Adoration gives Catholics the opportunity to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Many have found that one hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the most peaceful and satisfying hour of their day. Jesus invites us to do so: “Come with me all you who are weary and burdened. Come to me and I will refresh you.” Come as you are. Bring the kids; Jesus loves little children! Stay for five minutes, or for the whole hour. Just come! Eucharistic Adoration is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th from 9am to 6pm.

Activity Box Collection
Help is needed to make a child’s stay at the hospital a little bit brighter. Teen Pulse is gathering “Activity Boxes” and would like to take them to the Bellevue Hospital and Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo. These boxes should be filled with crayons, coloring books, colored pencils, puzzles, small toys, etc… Place the new items in a container the size of a shoebox. These activity boxes will then be passed out to children to help with their hospital stay and will go home with them. We would like to gather as many boxes as we can so your help is greatly appreciated. You can drop them off at the parish office or call Brenda Hickey @ 419-217-3749 for pick-up..

Jesus, Light of the World ...
Jesus, the Light of the World, as we celebrate Your birth may we begin to see the world in the light of the understanding You give us. As you chose the lowly, the outcasts, and the poor to receive the greatest news the world had ever known, so may we worship You in meekness of heart. May we also remember our brothers and sisters less fortunate than ourselves in this season of giving. Amen.

Love Tree Gift tags
are now available

Love Tree Gift Tags are now available on the Christmas tree located in the lobby by the parish office. Listed on the tags are children’s wishes for this Christmas. Pick a tag and then call the parish office with the ID# on that tag. Return the wrapped gifts with the ID tag to the parish office NO LATER than December 14th. Monetary donations are also being accepted at this time to help defray the cost of purchasing gift cards from local stores for those in need. Contribution envelopes are available at all the entrances and these can be placed in the collection at Mass or taken to the office. Gifts are also purchased and delivered to our shut-ins and nursing home residents. Please be generous in helping the less fortunate this year.

Christmas Choir
needs YOU!

As Christmas quickly approaches, all of our schedules are hectic and frantic; however, I encourage all members of the Immaculate Conception Parish to join our Christmas Choir. This special group will sing a musical offering before the 10:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass, as well as participating throughout the entire evening Mass. With only four rehearsals, Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 PM, this is a wonderful opportunity to participate in one of the most beautiful liturgies of the Church year. The Christmas Choir will be singing from the newly renovated balcony which now allows our choir to fully participate in each Liturgy. If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Neal in the parish office.
