My Dear Parishioners,
Frustrated! That's how I've been feeling lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be here...thrilled to be here, in fact. But I'm frustrated that COVID-19 has thrown a huge kink in being able to get to know all of you. I'm frustrated that you weren't able to give Fr. Jonathan the farewell he deserved after 12 years of excellent service to you. I'm so ready for all this to be over!!
As a reminder, I will be on my annual retreat this coming week. Know that you will all be in my prayers every day and I ask you do the same for me. Leaving an assignment I loved and coming to a new place is a big challenge, so I'm looking forward to a good week of prayer and rest. There will not be daily Masses celebrated this coming week. I will be out of town for a wedding on Saturday, but I'll be back in the saddle here on Sunday.
Starting Tuesday August 11 I will be available for confession 7:45 am-8:15 am Tuesday through Friday in addition to 3:30-4:00 on Saturday. I would like to offer an evening time at some point, but I think this is a good start. Obviously I feel very strongly about availing ourselves to this beautiful sacrament in which our Lord showers His infinite mercy upon us. Remember- you can never out-sin God! There is nothing too big or too small for Him.
Saturday August 15th we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin into heaven. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am but is not obligatory this year.
Immaculate Mary, pray for us!
Father Gase
