My Dear Parishioners,
Through contact tracing the parish staff has discovered that we have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore we are required to quarantine for two weeks effective Tuesday afternoon, September 8. I personally have not yet been tested, but am scheduled to do so in the near future. I am required to quarantine regardless of whether or not my test results reveal a positive diagnosis.
Please note that anyone we have been in contact with is safe and does not affect Immaculate Conception School! The protocol for determining whether or not one has been exposed is basically a 15 minute cumulative exposure to an individual who has tested positive.
Fr. Gary Walters will be here to celebrate the weekday Masses September 9-11, as well as 3:30 pm confessions and 4:30 pm Mass on Saturday September 12. Priests from the Sorrowful Mother Shrine will be celebrating the 8:00 am and 10:30 am Masses on Sunday September 13. I am still in the process of recruiting help for daily Masses September 15-18.
While this is certainly an annoyance it is overall necessary in order to not further spread the coronavirus. Please join me in praying for an end to this pandemic, healing for those affected, and the repose of the souls of those who have died.
Immaculate Mary, pray for us!
Father Gase
