My Dear Parishioners,
Last weekend I shared with you some more exciting steps we will be taking in our return to normal here at Immaculate Conception; however, it has come to my attention that there are some folks who, for personal reasons, would prefer to wear masks and/or social distance. I completely understand and am happy to accommodate. The south section in the west transept of the church will be designated for those who prefer to take extra precautions. The pew ropes will remain in place in this section and masks will be required in that area as well. In addition, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and I will continue to wear masks when we distribute Holy Communion. In speaking with other priests, other parishes have taken similar steps.
We are certainly living in a very blessed time as we start to return to normal! In order to get our ducks in a row at the parish office we are currently working to update our Ministry Scheduler. If you are an altar server, lector, money counter (we need more!) or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for Masses, nursing homes, hospital, or home bound please contact the parish office via phone or email by May 28 and let us know if you plan to continue serving in your respective capacity. In addition we could always use a few more good men or women for all of these ministries. Please contact the office if you are interested. Regarding, there will be training sessions for all our various ministries. Stay tuned!
This coming week we will be celebrating milestones in the lives of our young people. Wednesday evening is the baccalaureate Mass for all the high school seniors of our parish, and Thursday evening is the baccalaureate Mass for the ICS 8th graders. Congratulations to all and your families! I am proud of you!
Father Gase
