Weekly Message from Father Gase

My Dear Parishioners,

I sincerely hope you're enjoying these days of summer! As usually happens our Mass attendance has dropped off a bit due to vacations as well as the Sorrowful Mother Shrine offering their outdoor Masses. No matter what your vacation plans are be sure to make attendance at Sunday Mass a priority! Remember that the Sunday obligation has been reinstated- Sunday Mass is a requirement, not an option!!

I am happy to share with you that Ms. Kelsey Arquette will be joining our parish staff as the new Director of Religious Education. She will be taking Grace Middleswarth's place in leading our parish CCD and RCIA programs. Kelsey hails from Waterville, Ohio and is a bright young woman who I am confident will be a good leader for our religious education programs. Please join me in welcoming Kelsey and wishing Grace a happy retirement!

You may have noticed some work being done in the courtyard just outside the candle room. The first round of work was maintenance; you might remember the all-day downpour on Mother's Day. It resulted in a pretty substantial leak in the church basement. Thankfully we believe the issue has been resolved. The second round of work has been preparation and installation of a beautiful new marble statue of Our Lady of Lourdes -go out there and check it out! It was purchased and donated by John and Heidi Lambert in honor of Dave and Mary Vogel's 60th wedding anniversary. Thank you, John and Heidi, for this beautiful addition to our courtyard! Thank you, as well, to John Bores for providing the crew and equipment to install the statue. John and Heidi are also in the process of installing some beautiful new landscaping to go with the new statue. We are blessed!
