My Dear Parishioners,
I love the Blessed Mother. I really do, and I hope you do too! I especially love that our parish is under her patronage under the title of the Immaculate Conception. If you've been paying attention you may have noticed that each weekend the very last petition in the general intercessions is the same: "For each one of us and for the intentions we have brought to this Holy Mass. May Immaculate Mary, our patroness, present our prayers and petitions before the heavenly throne of her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ."
Each of us should call to mind special prayers or intentions each time we come to Mass. This is best done as soon as we enter the church and enter our pew: call to mind that we have left the world and all its cares behind and we have entered into God's time. Call to mind any special intentions you might have which you would like to unite with the Sacrifice of the Mass about to be offered. Finally, when you hear the prayer being prayed during the petitions you can be sure that Immaculate Mary is indeed presenting our prayers and petitions before the heavenly throne of her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Immaculate Mary, pray for us!
Father Gase
