The classes stress interactive learning. Topics address issues currently impacting our planet such as:
- Limited natural resources such as soil, water, minerals, fossil fuels
- Natural hazards such as tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and drought
- Global change such as global warming, plate motions, ocean currents, and sea level and meteoroid impacts
